On a recent visit to Caffè Poliziano, I found myself sitting at a small table near the entrance, sipping on a cappuccino and people-watching. It wasn't long before I noticed two elderly strangers sitting at the table next to me. They were both in their eighties and had a friendly demeanor, so I decided to strike up a conversation.

As we chatted, I learned that they were a couple from Canada who were traveling through Tuscany. They had stumbled upon Montepulciano by chance and had fallen in love with the town's charm and beauty. We spent the next hour chatting about everything from our favorite Italian foods to the history of Montepulciano.
