My Tuesday morning at Caffé Poliziano

Image
Caffè Poliziano is a true gem of Montepulciano! This historic café has been a staple of the town since 1868 and has a rich history that is worth sharing. Over the years, Caffè Poliziano became a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike. It was a hub of cultural and social activity, where people would gather to discuss literature, politics, and art over a cup of coffee. The café also hosted several famous visitors, including the Italian writer Gabriele D'Annunzio and the American poet Ezra Pound. Today, Caffè Poliziano is still a beloved institution in Montepulciano. The café has preserved its historic charm, with its original decor and furniture. The café's menu also pays tribute to its history, with a selection of traditional Italian coffee drinks and pastries. If you find yourself in Montepulciano, a visit to Caffè Poliziano is a must. Not only will you get to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, but you'll also be stepping into a piece of Italian history. There...

Monday blues stayed away

04.17. Monday As I woke up I was excited to start my week in Tuscany far from glooming clouds of work. I decided to go on a little adventure,  going on a ride from Montepulciano to Parco del Lago Trasimeno which is a leisurely drive through some of the nicest scenery. So, let's hit the road and see where it takes us! The first thing you'll notice as you leave Montepulciano behind is the rolling hills. These hills seem to go on forever, and it's hard not to feel like you're driving through a postcard. But don't get too distracted by the views. The roads in this part of Italy are notoriously windy, so you'll want to keep your eyes on the road (and your hands on the wheel). Picture this: I'm cruising down the winding roads of Tuscany, and the view from my window is nothing short of stunning. As far as the eye can see, there are rolling hills covered in greenery, dotted with the occasional quaint little village. I half expect to see a hobbit popping up from one ...

After arrival

Image
There's nothing quite like the feeling of arriving in a place that feels like a second home. For me, that place is in Italy. As I drove through the winding roads of the Italian countryside, I couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity and comfort. The rolling hills and quaint villages were a sight that I had come to know and love over the years, and each turn in the road brought back memories of past trips. As I approached my destination, I could feel the excitement building within me. This place had become a second home to me, and I was eager to reconnect with the people and places that had come to mean so much. And when I finally arrived, it was as though I had never left. The streets were just as I remembered them, the locals welcoming as always, and the food and wine just as delicious as ever. In a way, arriving in my second hometown in Italy felt like coming home. It's a place that has captured my heart and soul, and I feel so grateful to be able to return time and ...

On the road

04.16. Sunday As I hit the road alone at 3 am and drove onto the highways, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and adventure. The darkness of the night only added to the thrill of the journey that lay ahead of me. The headlights of my car illuminated the empty road in front of me, creating a tunnel of light that seemed to stretch out into infinity. As I crossed borders, I couldn't help but feel a sense of freedom and independence. There was something exhilarating about exploring new places and experiencing different cultures, even if it was just for a short time. The feeling of being on my own, with no one to answer to but myself, was liberating. But what truly made the experience special was the music. I turned up the volume on my favorite playlist, letting the rhythm and lyrics fill the car and drown out the sounds of the road. Each song seemed to encapsulate a different emotion, taking me on a journey through the ups and downs of life. I sang along at the top of m...
